Department Overview
International Change, within the Chief Transformation Office (CTO), drives strategic transformation across Nomura's Wholesale Business and Corporate Functions. We deliver enterprise-wide initiatives that shape the firm's future through excellence in project execution and investment governance, deep partnership with business, technology, and corporate stakeholders, and seamless collaboration between International and Japan.
Role Overview
Key objectives critical to success:
- The Strategic Transformation team is a newly created team within CTO, formed to support both the functions and the business to develop and prioritise their strategic priorities, with a key focus on delivering Nomura’s transformation agenda with AI as a critical enabler.
- Work collaboratively within different teams at Nomura to identify and shape the scope and business case for our strategic investments, leveraging an understanding of how Nomura works and peer maturity in the AI space.
- Bring industry insight and best practice on how an AI enabled business case should be constructed, as well as OKRs to measure value combined with critical levers including ways of working, operating model and location.
- Deliver individual programmes with senior oversight where required, focusing on attention to detail, quality deliverables and best in class governance standards.
- Be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, with interest in following market developments, whilst understanding how to enable change within a complex, matrixed environment.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Strong experience in strategic transformation, digital evolution, or operational leadership, with some experience specifically focused on transformation enabled by AI.
- Expertise in defining programme objectives, design principles and OKRs; proven track record of managing day-to-day programme risks, outcomes, and cross-functional reporting to executive leadership teams.
- Understanding of AI/GenAI platforms, AI agents, and data governance.
- Proficiency in deploying decision frameworks to facilitate business cases that maximize AI potential, defining the appropriate business case scope, OKRs and financial components, together with key stakeholders.
- Subject matter expertise of corporate functions, i.e. ways of working, key process flows and roles.
- Experience cultivating partnerships with third-party AI and infrastructure vendors.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders to shape requirements, garner feedback and align on key decision points.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, confident to identify issues and propose solutions where feasible.
- Team player, able to collaborate well with a broad range of stakeholders globally.
- Self-starter and proactive, with attention to detail.
