Location: London (Office-based). Note: First 6 months will be based in Redhill, Surrey.

Role Overview: The Operational Resilience drive from the PRA gives Nomura an opportunity to improve upon current safeguards. With focus on protecting our most important assets, this role will focus on providing strong technical and operational management expertise to support the GIS Operational Resilience function. Operating, planning and supporting application and service recovery testing, while maintaining the recovery environments with a strong focus on automation.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Day to day operations of an isolated recovery environment.
- Work with stakeholders to plan and execute the recovery testing of applications.
- Work with an automation first mindset with a view to tearing down recovery rooms post testing.
- Work with technical recovery leads to continually improve the service.
- Ensure Recovery environment is secure and updated with latest patching and security safeguards.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required:
Technical Knowledge:
- Deep technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage & virtualization.
- A good understanding of the application stack and dependencies into core services such as AD, DNS and NTP.
- Experience of ESXi & VCentre.
- Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools to track infrastructure health.
- A strong understanding of security principles.
- Understanding of disaster recovery architecture and principles.
- Capacity Planning and Management.
- Pro‑active monitoring and keeping the environments running.
- Planning, and implementing upgrades & Patches.
Recovery Test Support:
- Setup and maintain application recovery profiles.
- Plan and manage recovery test schedule.
- Support test execution, validate and support application recovery test cycles.
- Provide technical support for the platform and liaise with the vendor where necessary.
- Implementing automation within the infrastructure services space to reduce manual task dependency and improve testing cycle time.
- Develop and maintain knowledgebase including Best Practice & Support Information.
- Design and Support training plans to help build internal SME knowledge.
Knowledge Required:
- General proficiency within infrastructure and able to maintain VM’s, Network configuration etc.
- Automation tooling experience, e.g. Ansible, Python, scripting.
- ServiceNow integration.
