The Trading System Support team provides both local and global technical support for Instinet's trading environment. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure. Responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, technical, and operational support to internal and external clients, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of the trading environment. The role requires adaptability, creativity, teamwork, and results orientation. Weekend and bank holiday coverage may be required.

Key Objectives:
  • Monitor and support Instinet's real-time trading systems, including DMA, Crossing, Low latency solutions, Algorithmic and Smart Order Routing platforms.
  • Support low latency, high-frequency co-located trading environments, focusing on FIX-to-native and native-to-native solutions.
  • Support Instinet's MTF trading venue.
  • Perform daily health checks on critical systems and automate monitoring configurations.
  • Respond rapidly to incidents affecting trading systems.
  • Coordinate with front-office and development teams for escalation and resolution.
  • Manage and deploy production changes, including configurations and software releases.
  • Analyze logs and monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation such as runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
  • Implement and support exchange connectivity, including setting up gateways and market data feeds.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Essential: Ability to work effectively under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of bridging technology and front office teams.
  • Understanding of institutional trading practices, connectivity, and electronic trading.
  • Experience with OMS and EMS platforms.
  • Solid understanding of European securities markets, order lifecycle, FIX protocol, and market data.
  • Technical proficiency in Unix environments.
  • Good networking knowledge.
  • Desirable: Scripting and automation skills, preferably in Shell and Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic.
