This key role within the CIO Chief Controls Office reports to the CCO Frameworks Implementation lead and is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with the organization’s Risk Management Procedure (RMP) and associated risk‑lifecycle documentation. The position is the primary owner and subject matter expert for key risk‑management components, including Policies, Standards and Key Indicators (PS&I), Issue Management, and the Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) processes, contributing to the framework from design through lifecycle management.

The successful candidate will quickly establish themselves as a subject‑matter expert, leveraging strong influencing and problem‑solving skills to develop and maintain productive working relationships across CIO teams globally, Three Lines of Defence stakeholders, and key business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain the comprehensive Risk Management Procedure (RMP) framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure the RMP is current, fit‑for‑purpose, and reflects evolving business needs and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead periodic reviews and updates of the RMP to incorporate lessons learned, regulatory changes, and organizational developments.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities within the RMP framework.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation, templates, and guidance materials for RMP implementation.
  • Monitor adherence to the RMP across all business units and escalate non‑compliance issues appropriately.
  • Help ensure effective tooling and processes, including QA and oversight, are in place for the RMP.
  • Provide assurance to senior management and key stakeholders on the effectiveness of the risk management procedure.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks in a financial services context.
  • Relevant risk‑management and control experience within Investment Banking, Audit, a consulting firm, or a related environment/industry.
  • Combines a risk‑management framework skill set with a technical understanding relevant to the CIO risk‑management agenda – such as Information Technology (IT), Information Security (IS), and/or Data Management.
  • Takes a flexible approach to shape strategic direction, responding positively to feedback and changing circumstances.
  • Acts as a catalyst for change and inspires confidence in stakeholders with the quality and conviction of their work and knowledge.
  • Contributes to a culture that continually improves business processes that impact the business positively.
  • Understands technology – familiarity with cyber security, resilience and related domains preferred.
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment.
  • Experience managing stakeholders across the Three Lines of Defence.
  • Good communication skills with strong attention to detail.
