Role Description

Production Support specialist for Nomura's Rates and Credit trading businesses in EMEA covering pre‑trade (pricing and execution) and post‑trade (trade processing and risk). Contribute to technological innovation while supporting complex production environments for critical trading applications. The ideal candidate will be technically strong with Credit and Rates business knowledge and enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment while providing Trading Support for a wide range of electronic trading platforms and applications including our suite of in‑house applications and vendor platforms.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

  • Core Experience
    • Experience within a Production Support role at a major investment bank or similar financial institution
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
    • Willingness to learn and develop technical and business skills
  • Financial Markets & Business Knowledge
    • Working knowledge of Fixed Income products (Rates and Credit)
    • Understanding of the trade lifecycle
    • Familiarity with trade valuation, PnL, and risk concepts
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication
    • Experience collaborating with IT and business stakeholders across Trading, Sales, Middle Office, and Compliance
    • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to various audiences
    • Ability to build collaborative relationships with application development teams, Infrastructure and other functional groups globally
  • Systems & Infrastructure Management
    • Experience supporting enterprise applications
    • Proficiency in various technologies including Linux, databases, middleware, and networks enabling strong hands‑on troubleshooting and incident resolution capabilities
    • Operating systems knowledge (Windows, Unix, Linux)
    • Good working knowledge of databases and writing SQL queries
  • Incident & Problem Management
    • Experience with Service Now or similar platforms for Incident, Change, Request, and Problem Management
    • Experience supporting IT incidents and problem management processes for complex systems
    • Ability to take ownership of issues and see through to completion as well as diligently supporting end‑to‑end Change/Release processes across regional Fixed Income systems
  • Development & Automation
    • Familiarity with modern software development practices including agile methodologies
    • Understanding of Agile practices and principles
    • Scripting skills (e.g. Shell Scripting, Python, Perl)
    • Experience supporting DevOps tools as part of the deployment pipeline e.g. Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Elastic, Jira etc.
  • Emerging Technologies & Innovation
    • Working knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or similar) desirable
    • Interest in AI, ML, and other automated solutions
    • Enthusiasm for digital transformation initiatives
  • Governance & Risk Management
    • Working knowledge of the ITIL framework
    • Experience working with Audit and Operational Risk processes
    • Understanding of IT Governance areas: Audit, Operational Risk and BCP requirements
