The Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure (“GII”) team is one of the leading and largest sector teams at Nomura with a strong track record and significant transaction pipeline across low carbon infrastructure, energy, transportation, digital infrastructure, food, water and waste sectors. We have experienced senior bankers who are sector experts and understand our clients' industries and needs with greater depth and insight. We reach a vast global network of buyers, growth companies and investors, and thereby provide clients with more ways to succeed through a deeper relationship network. We have directly relevant transaction experience, which enables us to find creative structures and solutions to close transactions.
GII is an expert team of 150+ professionals globally, working seamlessly on our clients' behalf with dedicated offices in New York, Zurich and San Francisco and collaborating closely with our Nomura colleagues across the global Nomura network. We are trusted advisers to our clients, providing conflict-free advice and thoughtful, innovative solutions. We pride ourselves on our sector and technical expertise, and are dedicated to changing the way the world does business.
The Telecoms & Digital Infrastructure practice currently consists of 15+ bankers, both dedicated and semi-dedicated to the sector in London, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo as well as a range of offices in Europe and Asia. The team has been involved in a range of landmark M&A transactions over the past few years, advising a range of telecoms operators, private equity funds, infrastructure funds and sovereign wealth funds. The team is active across fiber, towers and datacentres verticals as well as in telecommunications space on a global scale.
Role Description
Typical work includes a mix of execution and client coverage, including financial analysis, financial due diligence, process management and client deal team interaction. Required to coordinate and work with all other product, geography and industry teams, including M&A, Leverage Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Debt Advisory and Equity Advisory. Opportunity to work on a range of transaction types, including sell‑side M&A, buy‑side M&A, debt and equity raising and leveraged buyouts. Broad engagement across teams/groups, for example: M&A, Leverage Finance, Financial Sponsors, DCM, Debt Advisory, Equity Advisory, Structured and Risk solutions (e.g., IR or FX derivatives).
Desired Profile, Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- Experience of working within Investment Banking / Corporate Finance / M&A.
- Experience in the Digital Infrastructure or Telecoms sector and understanding and knowledge of industry trends and/or past deal exposure is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to interact confidently with other banking professionals and clients.
- Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent financial modelling experience (operating models, merger models, LBO, etc).
- Experience of working in a project‑based environment with tight deadlines.
- Proactiveness, resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm.
- Outstanding academic record.
