Nomura has a very successful Global Rates franchise with clients placed at the heart of its strategy. The EMEA Flow Rates business trades incorporates the following desks: EGBs, EUR Swaps, SSA, Covered Bonds, GBP and Repo.
Key objectives critical to success:
- The role will be to trade the Gilts markets and all associated regulatory and supervisory responsibility, together with driving the medium and long strategy of the franchise.
- Success will also involve working collaboratively with Sales and the EMEA Flow Rates management team to define and execute business strategy.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- A proven track record in trading Rates products, specifically in trading gilts. Candidate should have experience of primary and secondary market making as well as a network across the client base.
- Experience in ensuring a very strong risk management and risk governance culture exists throughout the business.
- Optimising financial resource utilisation and returns on financial resources within the business.
- Collaborating with Sales and CFS in defining and executing the medium term strategy of the EMEA Flow Rates business.
- Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with different stakeholders (i.e. Structuring, Sales, Quant Research and IT).
- Highly energetic with an entrepreneurial mindset.
