Nomura is a global financial services group with an integrated network spanning approximately 30 countries and regions. By connecting markets East & West, Nomura services the needs of individuals, institutions, corporates and governments through its three business divisions: Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Wholesale (Global Markets and Investment Banking). Founded in 1925, the firm is built on a tradition of disciplined entrepreneurship, serving clients with creative solutions and considered thought leadership.

Working in the Nomura Asset Management (NAM) division, the EMEA Distribution team provides services to a wide range of clients across the EMEA region, whilst attempting to secure more clients into our wide range of products. We sell NAM products as well as those of associate companies such as New Forests.

Main priority is to focus on developing new business from Nordic clients and prospects through both institutional and wholesale channels, leveraging existing network of contacts and fostering new ones. Focus on distribution of NAM products and those of Nomura affiliates, including NCRAM and New Forests. Close collaboration with other NAM staff across regions and departments to achieve success. Agree and execute a PR strategy for the region. Document all activity on Salesforce and keep pipeline information accurate and up-to-date. Contribute to weekly and monthly activity reports.

This role has a Sales Support team attached, although not directly reporting to them. It is the Salesperson’s role to ensure that the Sales Support person is involved at appropriate points throughout the sales process and does as much of the preparation / follow ups as possible, to maximise overall efficiency. All activities to be completed within the boundaries of Legal and Compliance.

The role involves being in contact with a range of clients and prospects by email / phone; discussing their current and future needs, presenting NAM capabilities by phone, video conference, and / or face-to-face meetings. Typically, an expert/product specialist from an investment team will present alongside, but this is not always the case. If successful, the task of on-boarding clients is handed over to the NAM Client Service Team; however, the salesperson will remain in contact with the client, in order to constantly evaluate new sales opportunities and cross-sell other opportunities. Representing NAM and our partners at local events / conferences as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Someone with a strong investor network, covering both institutional and wholesale channels in the region.
  • Sales experience across a broad range of asset classes in both public market strategies as well as alternatives.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and prospects at all levels, as well as internally with stakeholders.
  • Ability to aim towards and meet specific sales targets.
  • Strong investment knowledge on a product and macro basis.
  • Excellent presentation and people/communication skills.
  • Team spirit is key, together with the ability to be a self-starter and lateral thinker.
  • Strong with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Fluent in English and ideally at least one Nordic language.

Attributes

  • Enthusiastic and motivated team player, but also a self-starter.
  • Willing to work to achieve sales targets.
