Nomios' mission is to build a ‘secure and connected’ future. Organisations across Europe depend on us to help secure and connect their digital infrastructures.

As part of our continued growth in the UK, we're looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our internal IT team.

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, supporting and continually improving our infrastructure and business systems, ensuring they remain secure, reliable and fit for the needs of a growing organisation.

Working across networking, systems and automation, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our IT environment whilst also contributing to projects that enhance efficiency, resilience and user experience across the business.

Your role as IT Systems Administrator

As an IT Systems Administrator, you will take ownership of the administration, support and continuous improvement of Nomios' infrastructure, systems and core IT services.

You'll work across a varied technology estate spanning networking, Windows and Linux environments, automation platforms and cloud services.

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving processes and working closely with colleagues to deliver reliable and secure IT services.

The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with project work and will actively look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve the effectiveness of the wider IT function.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role include

  • Administering and supporting internal network, server and infrastructure environments.
  • Maintaining secure, stable and high-performing Windows and Linux systems.
  • Monitoring system health, investigating issues and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
  • Supporting LAN services, routing technologies and network performance optimisation.
  • Developing and maintaining scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assisting with infrastructure upgrades, implementations and technical improvement projects.
  • Supporting Microsoft workplace technologies when required and providing cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
  • Contributing to the security, resilience and continuous improvement of the IT estate.

We're looking for a technically capable and motivated IT professional with experience administering enterprise infrastructure and supporting business-critical systems.

You'll be comfortable troubleshooting issues across multiple technology areas and enjoy working in an environment where no two days are quite the same.

  • Ideally, you will have experience across a number of the following areas:
  • Enterprise networking, including LAN switching, IP routing technologies such as OSPF and BGP, network troubleshooting, Qo S and traffic management.
  • Administration and support of Windows Server, desktop operating systems and Linux-based environments.
  • Developing scripts and automation solutions using technologies such as Power Shell, Python or Bash.
  • Infrastructure automation and modern IT operational practices using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, Power Automate or Power Apps.
  • Performance monitoring, system optimisation and proactive maintenance of infrastructure services.
  • Supporting Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and Azure.

Whilst these technologies form part of our environment, they are not the primary focus of the role and are largely covered by other members of the team.

  • Working within mixed operating system environments, including mac OS and Apple devices.

Beyond your technical skills, you will be proactive, organised and solution-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.

You'll take pride in delivering a high standard of service, be willing to challenge existing processes where improvements can be made and maintain a continuous learning mindset.

How to prepare for a job interview at Nomios UK&I

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach
