Act as a trusted partner and advisor to the business area and client group supported and drive business performance by providing detailed and insightful analysis, commentary, advice, challenge and decision support. Provide key support in customer meetings and negotiations, by providing insights, analysis, challenge and recommendations. Become a key leadership figure within the UK sales finance team, aiding cross functional collaboration across the total business.
Responsibilities
- Partner the Sales teams to deliver Financial targets.
- Develop an in depth understanding of the client group supported together with its results and the key levers that influence P&L performance for that area/group.
- Understand the drivers of historic, current and forecast performance for client group and provide monthly financial analysis, insight and explanation of performance, highlighting emerging issues or trends and making recommendations on corrective actions.
- Partner with client group to drive actions to meet targets (pricing, promo ROI, sales, margin, ROI etc).
- Advise on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities.
- Ensure SOX Compliance across all areas of sales finance.
- Assume a strong and positive role on the Sales Team, supporting the Head of Sales Finance in creating a cohesive, high-performing team.
- Support the wider Commercial Finance team to a model of excellent business partnering, whilst raising capability and to lead by example.
- Up-skill the Sales teams' financial understanding and acumen.
- Act in a broader leadership role amongst the Commercial Finance Team, whilst fostering a strong relationship with wider finance areas inclusive but not limited to the Nomad Shared Service centre and local market FP&A.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant 6+ years PQE.
- A track record of delivery in commercial finance roles.
- Experience of working in an FMCG organisation.
- Experience with working across cross functional Teams in a matrix style organisation.
- Power BI, SAP ECC/SAP BI, Advanced MS Office package, particularly Excel.
- High level of business/financial acumen and analytical ability.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to quickly learn and understand interactions between various finance/reporting systems.
- Focussed on meeting deadlines and commitments to others.
- Always looking to improve processes.
- Seeking out the root cause rather than just dealing with the symptoms.
- Able to challenge, understand and communicate to different Stakeholder groups in a clear way.
