The Nomad Group continues to go through an exciting period of change. The Group is growing organically which, combined with strategic acquisitions, is helping to build a best-in-class food company. Through various programs, activities and strategic projects, Nomad is continuing to strengthen the emphasis on internal control and is looking to develop a robust program fit for a changing organisation. This role will have specific responsibility for supporting the Global SOX Controller to deliver key targets in 2025 and beyond with a specific focus on Business Process controls across Group Functions, Shared Finance and Regional Markets. We are looking for somebody to oversee the standardised controls framework for Business Process Controls, to work with organisations to support compliance, training and facilitate both Management Assurance programmes and External Audit work.
Responsibilities
- The role holder will be expected to support a specific portfolio of Group Functions and/or Markets to ensure that they are aware of and understand the requirements to comply with the controls framework and assist the business with training on those requirements.
- Communication with required business leaders (such as heads of function) is clear and they are sufficiently informed on deliverables and timelines for their teams.
- Acting as an escalation point for internal assurance providers (Internal Audit or RSM) when necessary and supporting them to complete their work in a timely and efficient manner.
- External audit teams are provided support to complete their controls scope of work in an effective manner.
- Trace and escalation procedures are understood and complied with by assurance providers, audit teams and first line of defence.
- Primary point of contact for control owners, control approvers/reviewers and control preparers for queries specifically related to compliance with the controls framework.
- Overseeing and supporting controls assurance program (SOX) and audit processes for Nomad Foods for specified areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIA.
- Experience of working within Internal Audit, Internal Controls or specific SOX experience in the ITGC field.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver information both orally and written.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others.
- An ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts.
- Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion.
- Meeting deadlines.
- Have an enquiring and questioning approach to work.
Desirable
- FMCG/foods experience.
- Working with companies that are in the process of developing and improving their SOX and Internal Control environment.
- Be a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to the role.
