Overview

PURPOSE & IMPACT: This role is known for the management of the logistics functions and activities that are commonplace across all markets (such as customs clearance, import and export documentation, transport management, pallet management and strategic vendor management) and the achievement of the required cost, cash and service metrics. Leading the Central Operations Centre of Expertise (CoE) for Group Logistics, covering both the day-to-day logistics operations and the implementation of strategic projects and change activities within the regions. Primarily focused on managing and continuously improving centrally managed processes, as well as developing, improving, and centralising the logistics processes that are commonplace across all markets and clusters. Operating as a key stakeholder in the Logistics Leadership Team.

We need someone who is a logistics professional, able to motivate and inspire people to deliver against challenging targets. A strong leader with a mindset of ‘Excellent Execution’, accuracy and attention to detail. Focused on the delivery of financials with the ability to think innovatively and discuss and influence strategy planning. A strong change agent with the ability to leverage stakeholder relationships to implement change.

Responsibilities

  • ONE NOMAD: Role models and champions the One Nomad way ensuring mindset, behaviours and actions in the logistics organisation embody our values. An agile and collaborative leader with the ability to actively build networks across the markets within the cluster, functions and CoE’s, challenging and leading our teams to evolve and clarify their current culture and ways of working.
  • EXCELLENT EXECUTION: Manages the continuous improvement of existing logistics functions and processes as well as developing and implementing the Group Logistics CoE. Streamlines and centralises processes that are currently commonplace across our markets such as customs clearance, import and export documentation, transport management, pallet management and strategic vendor management.
  • CUSTOMER EXECUTION: Ensures all logistics project and change activity implemented across the business is executed to the required standards (quality, cost, time). Works with key stakeholders across all clusters, markets, central teams and CoE’s to ensure awareness and support for the logistics strategy and associated projects. Represents Group Logistics in the relevant decision-making forums both internally and externally.
  • SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY: Inputs into the broader Group Logistics strategy and supports the development of the in-year and 2–5-year plan. Supports the communication of the strategy to the relevant internal and external stakeholders. Accountable for ensuring a ‘One Nomad’ way of working.
  • CAPABILITY & TALENT: Accountable for the conception, structure, and implementation of the CoE and all specialist related skill sets, e.g. primary/secondary logistics, customs clearance, and import/export documentation. Ensures there is a deep, diverse, and agile talent pipeline for the Group Logistics team. Coaches and develops direct and indirect teams, managing performance, development, and talent conversations appropriately as a direct or matrix manager. Actively works to build capability within their teams, ensuring we develop and select the right talent to deliver in year and future performance.
  • LEADERSHIP: Builds Group Logistics as a high performing Central Operations CoE. Directly leads their teams with active presence across the Nomad Foods business, both centrally and within the markets. Works closely with the relevant functions and other CoE’s inside and outside of logistics to collaborate and partner on priorities that contribute to both the wider Nomad Foods and Supply Chain agenda. Builds trust and the conditions that enable direct and matrix teams to deliver strong performance and work effectively together.

  • Experience managing complex logistics functions across a multinational business
  • Experience of managing complex 3rd party logistics providers and contractual agreements
  • Evidence of developing and implementing strategic change
  • Proven leadership skills that drive organisational and KPI based results
  • Experience of leading multi-site, multi-function teams and inspiring them to deliver against challenging targets
