Overview
PURPOSE & IMPACT: Innovation is the biggest growth lever in the Nomad Foods Strategic Plan in the next 3 years. You will be part of Nomad Foods’ Global Portfolio Team, responsible for developing the Segment portfolio strategy, building commercially viable Innovation & Renovation Pipeline, and leading the flywheel process to ensure markets have clear Blueprints and winning plans across the Must Win Battles (MWBs). This role reports to the Head of Segment.
Responsibilities
- Be part of the Nomad Foods’ Group Portfolio Team, working on the Food Quadrant of the Flywheel, collaborating with marketing colleagues across 22 European locations.
- Understand category vision and key drivers for segment and brand growth; develop clear sell-in strategies for innovation and renovation aligned with market execution.
- Develop compelling innovation concepts co-created with consumers, uncover insights, and identify benefits and reasons to believe, utilizing disruptive techniques and outside references.
- Support MUs in identifying opportunities for NPD by understanding portfolio principles and space & place.
- Draw inspiration from the broader food market beyond the immediate frozen category and apply these insights within strategies and plans.
- Lead innovation and renovation work streams within cross-functional teams.
- Utilize consumer validation methodologies, interpret data and insights, and make informed recommendations.
- Lead workshops and mobilize teams behind the One Nomad Innovation Process and Stage Gate process.
Building Knowledge to Win (Flywheel Process, Playbooks & Best Practice Sharing)
- Assess performance within the flywheel process to inform segment strategy.
- Lead flywheel workshops for MWBs and support markets/clusters with analysis and blueprints.
- Create toolkits for execution to inspire MUs and support innovation implementation, fostering continuous learning and optimization.
- Challenge the status quo by seeking and applying new learnings.
Commercial Acumen
- Understand PPA/Price/Promo levers and how they support innovation and renovation.
- Collaborate with Insights, Global Sales, RDQ, PMO, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver strategic P&L and meet/exceed KPIs for NPDs and marketing execution.
- Manage non-working A&P budgets related to segment/MWBs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of marketing or commercial experience in FMCG, preferably food.
- Proven achievement in an FMCG environment, with experience leading product innovation.
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Experience working across different countries and with diverse nationalities is preferred.
- Mandatory language: English; knowledge of Italian, German, or French is an advantage.
