Overview
The Head of Plant Finance UK / I Cluster is a strategic role in Nomad Supply Chain and Finance organizations. The purpose of this position is to partner with UK / I plant general managers and plant leadership teams to drive the medium / long term strategic plan for the manufacturing sites, including conversion cost glidepath, FY commitments, sourcing decisions, cost savings initiatives, restructuring programs, capital spending and working capital.
The role will report to the Group Finance Director Supply Chain and will be directly responsible for the cost / cash results of four critical plants in the Nomad network. The role will have direct responsibility for three Plant Finance Business Partners (3 FTEs) and the plant Financial Planning and Analysis team (5 FTEs).
Responsibilities
- Partner with plant general managers / lead teams to drive and deliver the long term strategic plan / performance of the sites, based on the Supply Chain Strategic Plan.
- Enable Supply Chain lead team to make choices among sites for capex / working capital optimization / FY commitment delivery.
- Coach / develop Plant Finance Business Partners and FP&A teams on driving site performance for cost and cash, ensuring operational discipline and developing financial acumen.
- Act as a coach to Shared Finance Center (SFC) management accounting team, establishing close and effective working relationships between SFC and Plant Finance teams.
- Possess strong core business skills including influencing, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understand the drivers of historic, current and forecast performance for the Cluster and highlight emerging issues, opportunities or trends.
- Be a change agent in leading and implementing upcoming transformations which impact cost / cash delivery, e.g. system implementations / changes, ways of working.
- Drive conversion cost glidepaths, including identification of insourcing opportunities and restructuring programs, and enabling delivery of business cases for significant capital investments / new product launches.
- Drive capex / working capital improvements by aligning targets, outlining opportunities and improving processes.
- Partner with other Heads of Plant Finance to ensure sharing of best practices.
- Drive the right mindset in the plant regarding financial and operational controls.
Qualifications
- Essential: Qualified accountant (or deep accounting knowledge) +7 years' experience in a similar senior role.
- Business knowledge - preferably in a Manufacturing FMCG setting.
