The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

To monitor and maintain utility services plant to the Lowestoft site and ensure all systems are available at the required time and quality to meet production plans and requirements. These consist primarily of:

  • Industrial ammonia refrigeration plant
  • Water treatment systems for prevention of Legionella including chlorine dioxide
  • Steam and hot water boilers, softeners and associated chemical treatment plant
  • Reverse Osmosis plant
  • Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant
  • Trade Effluent plant
  • Compressed air systems
  • Heating and Ventilation systems
  • Site electrical distribution and lighting

To provide technical support and assistance to the production departments in all aspects of the above utility services. Provide support to the manufacturing units for planned maintenance and fault finding when required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all plant and equipment at optimum level by means of planned maintenance activities, using all aspects of Condition Based Maintenance (including use of unrostered hours in planned activity).
  • Reacting to all breakdown conditions in a timely manner to reduce impact on production output.
  • Carry out all regular inspection testing and any quality controls identified as requirement to maintain optimum performance, legislative compliance and safety.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis (root cause analysis) in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Monitoring operating conditions, data collection, logging and analysing results.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and plant replacement projects.
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures, safe operation practices and standards are adhered to.
  • Working closely with shift service technician dealing with operational issues, including use of Breathing Apparatus when site emergencies (i.e. fire and ammonia leak).

Qualifications

  • Minimum EAL NVQ level 3 Engineering (essential).
  • Good verbal communication and IT skills using MS Office and bespoke web-based systems.
  • Prioritisation and coaching skills.
  • Self-driven and pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Must be medically fit to wear Breathing Apparatus and be part of a site rescue team.
