Overview
This role is accountable for not only the End User Computing (EUC) elements for Nomad Foods, but also for ensuring that the training of the 2000+ office workers and defining and educating all users on how to get the most from the technology which is deployed. It is a highly visible and influential role within Nomad Foods
The EUC, Collaboration & personal productivity Technology Lead will report directly to the Service Operations Manager, and will be responsible for the identification, design and delivery of new end user computing and personal productivity technology requirements along with reviewing and aligning changes to existing platforms and services. The individual will also be required to drive the deployment of new solutions either directly or through engagement with and oversight of multiple third-party partners and vendors.
This role will work with the rest of the Tech function to ensure services are stable and maintained and will report service levels monthly. Within Personal Productivity, this person will proactively drive improvements in the service performance.
In this role communication is key and you will be expected to engage with senior stakeholders (Exec and Exec -1) as well as internal Customers at all levels of the organisation with the ability to cater the style and technical content on an individual basis.
The role will work with all countries / sites currently supported by Nomad Foods Group Technology (currently at 27 locations, with additional growth from potential future acquisitions).
Responsibilities
Full ownership of the EUC agenda from choosing hardware, deploying software and updates and ensuring that the 3rd party which supports our EUC is equipped to do so.
Manage budget/spend of approx. €1-2M
Define the yearly project to update ways of working for all Nomad White collar workers and set up training/communication to ensure that they can best use these tools. This will involve being a leader on a cross functional culture project to define how we use collaboration tools in 2025 and beyond
Be accountable for the service to our Executive team given their slightly different needs due to travel. Ensure you build relationships with them and their Exec Admin teams
Ensure that the licensing for EUC is up to date and managed to the budget.
Managing the audit and controls related to EUC proactively to result in zero deficiencies.
Working within a pan-European environment, you will build and maintain close relationships with key business Stakeholders at every level, Group and Factory IT Teams and selected 3rd party providers to anticipate needs and identify gaps and technologies that will enable Nomad Foods to evolve with technology as a Partner.
Provide input and informed advice to Teams within Technology and key Business Partners ensuring you listen to feedback from our functions and work to identify solutions either using existing tools or recommending new ones.
You will be expected to stay up to date on technology trends and proactively identify appropriate opportunities to improve IT capability provision and / or reduce cost with the use of technology. You will also need to keep your knowledge broad and be expected to utilise our wide range of technology partners to learn and explore solutions that fit both the strategy but also the culture of our business.
You will support the transition of new and updated services from delivery into production.
The journey of our tools, applications, platforms and solutions should never stop once they are delivered and you will be expected to provide review and change support for any major feature or experience changes planned for core systems or infrastructure.
Communication and education of our Colleagues is becoming more and more important and as part of this role you will also be responsible for the planning and facilitation of training for new systems launched within the Technology Team and work to help our users gain the most value from existing group wide applications & services.
Write “How To” user guides to enable the business understands how to exploit the technology tools in which we have invested and ensure that they get to all employees through a number of channels e.g. webcast, townhalls, Video learning etc
Work closely with our internal Communications Team as well as our external Communications partner to deliver focussed Technology updates and guides to the business.
Arrange the delivery of external Technology training where required to our business, working with the training Companies and Communications teams to agree content and distribute content and booking details.
Support the delivery of the Quarterly Webcast by our CEO – replace the previous solution with an “internal” platform and offer this to other markets across Nomad – ensuring that these are fully trained and supported locally. Hand over to the Run Team once this process is established.
Attend regular Technology Governance meetings with Nomads Vendors and third parties representing the Technology & Infrastructure team and make strategic decisions around solutions.
Qualifications
Essential
- Graduate calibre IT professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a service, infrastructure or technology role in a corporate or service provider context
- Experience of working in an international and fast paced environment
- Knowledge of core and emerging IT technologies and their application in a business context
- Ability to manage the deployment of technology across an international business to deliver business value
- Effective interpersonal and influencing skills and an ability to maintain professional relationships with key influencers across the business
- Matrix Management at a management/senior stakeholder level
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Confident presenter and communicator with an ability to explain complex topics clearly to a non-technical audience
Desirable
- FMCG experience
- Experience of delivering through outsourced and offshore service providers, in an international context
- FMCG experience
- Experience of working with third party delivery organisations
- Experience of exploiting Office 365, as well as telephony and networking
