Overview

PURPOSE & IMPACT: This role is known for driving SHE maturity across the Nomad Foods organisation (Factories, Head Offices, Distribution & Logistics etc.), maintaining and developing the organisational Safety and Environmental programmes, providing functional leadership, coaching the organisation and ensuring legal SHE compliance. We need a proactive self-starter who can build strong, meaningful relations with stakeholders across multiple geographies and functions. Someone who can work collaboratively and influence others at varying organisational levels and functional disciplines to put ‘Safety First’ in everything we do, driving and maturing safety culture is essential. The role requires the ability to communicate comprehensively and consistently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of SHE Strategy: Develops organisational SHE strategy to achieve Zero Accidents & Zero impact to the environment. Collaboratively builds executable plans to achieve Safe Systems, Safe Assets, Safe Behaviours to drive & catalyse organisational safety culture.
  • Influences SHE Culture & Business Engagement: Acts as a change agent to drive a strong SHE culture of caring & prevention, engaging & motivating the wide array of functional Teams across the organisation. Coaches & develops Regional SHE Leads and SHE functional organisation to deliver organisational safety objectives in a sustainable manner. Holds leadership teams to account for ensuring safe systems, behaviours & assets/infrastructure. Coaches & supports to ensure a safety mindset is ever present. Develops a clear and consistent drumbeat of Safety communications at varying levels of the organisation, working collaboratively with Corporate Communications.
  • Drives Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensures the necessary SHE governance processes are in place across the organisation. Facilitates implementation and maintenance of SHE Management Standards through business and process owners (LOTO, BBS, WPT, STF, MH, Cuts, LSPs, etc.) to ensure prevention and risk reduction. Is a strong advocate of Continuous Improvement (CI), taking an active role in the organisation’s journey to Excellence (OpX etc.), ensuring safety is ever present in methodology, activities & mindset. Ensures compliance to the necessary internal & external Management Systems. Ensures safety and environment reporting to the Nomad Foods group and local authorities, SHE statistics and waste monitoring.
  • Leads a high performing team: Recruits, develops and leads a highly engaged, high performing team, focussed on excellent execution and ownership to deliver value. Ensures deep, diverse & agile talent pipelines are in place for the future, building capability through targeted development and hiring of talent. Coaches and develops individuals, managing performance, development, and talent conversations appropriately. Identifies SHE training and coaching needs among employees, experts, and management. Supports training, development and career plans at the site.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent State/Country S+H professional certificate.
  • H&S IOSH qualification.
  • H&S NEBOSH Qualification.
  • Proven experience of driving SHE cultural maturity through an organisation.
  • Production/Manufacturing experience, plus experience beyond Manufacturing / Supply Chain e.g., Head office, Distribution & Logistics etc.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills distilling detailed information down into key clear messages.
  • Previous experience of managing large teams in a multinational environment.
  • Environmental awareness.
