We are working with a rapidly growing EV infrastructure specialist delivering installation, maintenance and support services for commercial and domestic EV charging solutions across the UK. This is a field-based role covering the installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and fault-finding of EV charging equipment. The successful candidate will ideally be based in Surrey, Kent or the surrounding areas and must be comfortable with UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on AC and DC EV charging systems.
- Install, test and commission commercial and domestic EV charging equipment.
- Support larger commercial installations involving three-phase supplies, containment and distribution equipment.
- Complete electrical inspection and testing, including EICRs, and ensure installations meet required standards.
- Diagnose electrical and technical faults and provide effective solutions on customer sites.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records and relevant technical documentation.
- Provide professional customer support, including handovers and communication with site managers and facilities teams.
- Manage workload independently while travelling throughout the UK and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
Experience / Skills Required:
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent is desired.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and valid ECS/CSCS Card.
- Level 3 EV Charging qualification, such as City & Guilds 2921-34, EAL, NICEIC or equivalent is desired.
- Level 3 Inspection & Testing qualification, such as 2391-52 or equivalent.
- Proven experience installing and maintaining EV charging infrastructure, ideally covering both AC and DC equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with experience working on three-phase systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel UK-wide with occasional overnight stays.
- Experience with OCPP, charge point management software, load balancing or smart charging would be advantageous.
