We are currently working with a well-established and growing specialist within the waste management sector, who are seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who has completed an engineering qualification and gained some hands-on experience within automotive, plant, agricultural, manufacturing, forklift, industrial, or similar engineering sectors, but is now looking for a role that offers structured training, career progression and long-term development.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will receive specialist training in electrical and hydraulic systems whilst developing the skills required to become a fully qualified Field Service Engineer. As training milestones are achieved, opportunities for salary progression and increased responsibility will follow. Responsibilities:- Assisting with the servicing, maintenance and repair of waste and recycling machinery.
- Supporting installation, commissioning projects across customer sites.
- Learning electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fault-finding techniques.
- Assisting with machinery refurbishment projects.
- Completing digital service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Providing excellent customer service while working on-site.
- Working alongside experienced engineers to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
- Engineering qualification through college, apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Experience within automotive, plant, agricultural, manufacturing, forklift, industrial or similar engineering environments would be advantageous.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
