We are currently working with a well-established specialist within the waste management industry, seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. With over 28 years of industry success, the business has built a reputation for delivering high-quality waste handling solutions and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a skilled engineer experienced in servicing and maintaining recycling and waste management equipment. Responsibilities:
- Installing, commissioning, and providing operator training on balers, compactors, and associated recycling equipment.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work on customer sites and at company facilities.
- Performing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fault-finding.
- Refurbishing machinery to a high standard.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Completing digital service reports and maintenance records.
- Liaising professionally with customers and providing technical support.
- Working closely with internal departments to ensure efficient project and service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working on balers, compactors, or similar recycling and waste management machinery.
- Strong electrical and hydraulic fault-finding experience.
- Welding experience is essential.
- Fabrication experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Flexibility to undertake occasional overnight stays (approximately 1 night away every 2 weeks) and Saturday work (paid at overtime rates).
