Our client operates within the renewable energy building services sector. They are looking for a Lead M&E Design Engineer to join their team and become dedicated to reducing carbon emissions through the use of innovative technology across various projects, including:
- Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) and Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems
- District and communal heating systems
- Solar photovoltaic (PV) installations
- Other low-carbon technologies
You will support the Commercial, Business Development, and Operations teams by providing technical and commercial expertise in project implementation, bid generation, and opportunity assessment. Your role will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from conception to completion, including performing design calculations, drafting design reports, creating schematics, and maintaining close communication with customers throughout the process.
Example of Responsibilities:
- Provide help from the initial idea to final stages of development.
- Oversee and manage large-scale engineering projects from bid initiation to completion and handover.
- Conduct site surveys and deliver detailed reports to clients.
- Perform site and technology assessments to support clients' funding applications.
- Develop comprehensive technical designs and reports for tender submissions, project execution, and construction as-built documentation.
- Conduct technical assessments of domestic and commercial properties for energy and water efficiency upgrades.
Experience/Skills Required:
- Experience in engineering and energy analysis, including the design of hydraulic and renewable heating systems.
- Knowledge and experience of using AutoCAD and Revit is preferable.
- Engineering-related degree such as Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services (related degrees will be considered).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Experience with MS Office (Excel and Word).
