Company / Position
We are working with a rapidly growing EV infrastructure specialist delivering installation, maintenance and support services for commercial and domestic EV charging solutions across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Electrical Engineering college leaver to develop their practical skills and build a long-term career within the EV industry, working alongside experienced engineers on installations, maintenance and fault-finding.
The successful candidate must be based in Surrey, Kent or the surrounding areas, hold a full UK Driving Licence, and be comfortable with UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Support experienced engineers with the installation, testing and commissioning of EV charging equipment.
- Assist with planned maintenance, servicing and fault-finding on EV charging systems.
- Support commercial and domestic EV charger installations, including systems using three-phase supplies.
- Assist with electrical inspection, testing and diagnosing electrical faults.
- Learn to safely install and maintain AC and DC EV charging equipment.
- Complete service reports and relevant maintenance documentation.
- Develop knowledge of EV charging technology, including smart charging and load balancing.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the UK and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.
Experience/Skills Required
- Level 2/Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualifications is essential.
- AM2 completed or booked is essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Some practical electrical experience through employment, apprenticeship, work placement or college-based experience is desired.
- Basic understanding of electrical installation principles and electrical safety.
- Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working alongside qualified electricians or exposure to EV charging would be beneficial.
- Strong willingness to learn, develop technically and undertake further EV-specific training.
