This is a superb opportunity to join our award-winning company, as our HR Manager.Working closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee the full HR function, from recruitment and employee relations to training, payroll, and policy management.

What will the interview process be like?

  • First stage: An Informal 15-20 minute Teams call, to discuss your experience to date, and to talk about Nolans and the position.
  • Second stage: A face-to-face interview to discuss the job responsibilities and how you fit the job role. This stage may include a task or presentation.

Responsibilities

General:

  • Work with our people managers on all HR related matters, taking a leading role to ensure a consistent and professional approach.
  • Act as an active member of the senior management team, reporting progress to the monthly management meetings.
  • Working with our people managers to best run the day-to-day activities of the company.
  • To continuously review and improve our HR policies, ensuring that the company is up to date with legislation changes.

Recruitment:

  • Manage the recruitment process, from advertising through to onboarding.
  • Own and build relationships with our preferred recruitment agencies.
  • Work with the senior managers to create job descriptions and job advertisements.
  • Define comprehensive and measurable probation plans for new employees.

Performance Management:

  • Ensure all employees are appraised regularly and consistently.
  • Responsible for the management of any employee relations matters. Supporting our people managers through the process.

Learning and Personal Development:

  • Responsible for overseeing employees learning and personal development.
  • Review current training and development initiatives to ensure they align with business objectives and individuals training needs.
  • Own relationships with training partners, including managing the NetSuite Learning Cloud Support system and Microsoft training programmes and portals.

Succession Planning:

  • Oversee our apprenticeship programs, with the aim of bringing Juniors into the business for development into Senior roles.
  • Conduct exit interviews for any leavers to aid the company’s understanding of why they have left, making suggestions on how we can improve in the future.
  • Create plans for staff retention.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Take responsibility for our employee benefit structure, ensuring all staff are rewarded fairly and appropriately.
  • Oversee a flexible bonus scheme for all employees.
  • Oversee the annual salary review process, working with the Management team to manage any changes.
  • Actively monitor pay equality across the business.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure Nolan Business Solutions are compliant with all relevant HR legislation.
  • Be responsible for effective HR record keeping, through our PeopleHR system.
  • Monitor sickness records and lead any absence management processes, if necessary.

Employee Engagement:

  • Build and run a program of employee engagement activities within a set budget, ensuring the program is run consistently throughout the year.
  • Organise staff events like the Christmas and Summer party.
  • Manage work anniversaries and other employee events like leaving presentations etc.

Skills and Competencies

  • CIPD qualified, with significant experience managing the HR function.
  • The ability to build relationships and be credible across all levels of the business.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience of managing payroll and employee benefits.
  • Comfortable covering the whole HR life-cycle, working as a HR Generalist.
  • Previous experience in a technology/IT or similar industry would be an advantage.

Along with the above, you should be willing to share ideas, learn new technology, be enthusiastic about your work, be able to work on your own initiative and develop close and sustainable relationships with your clients and colleagues.
