We are seeking an experienced VP, Head of Commercial Management to lead and develop our commercial management capabilities across patent licensing and litigation programs. This role carries end‑to‑end ownership of commercial governance in deal and offer approval processes, contract and royalty management, and economic analysis, supporting licensing and litigation strategies. The position plays a critical role in shaping and safeguarding the overall portfolio story, ensuring commercial excellence, robust governance, and alignment across licensing, litigation, and external stakeholders.

This is a highly visible leadership role at the heart of our commercial and licensing operations. You will shape how we manage value, risk, and governance across a world‑class IP portfolio, working with experienced professionals and influencing outcomes with significant strategic and financial impact.

The ideal candidate brings extensive senior‑level experience in commercial management, preferably within patent licensing, intellectual property, or other technology‑driven environments. He/she demonstrates a strong expertise in contract management, pricing strategies, royalty models, and FRAND‑related topics, complemented by a proven track record in litigation investment. A solid understanding of economic analysis as it applies to licensing and portfolio strategy is essential. The role also requires the ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders, effectively balancing strategic oversight with operational excellence. In addition, the candidate should exhibit strong leadership capabilities, a governance‑oriented mindset, and the ability to drive best practices across complex, cross‑functional environments.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Commercial & Licensing Management
    • Own and lead the patent licensing deal and offer approval process, ensuring consistency, quality, and governance across the portfolio.
    • Oversee patent licensing contract management and royalty management, ensuring commercial rigor and compliance.
    • Manage terms and conditions, including pricing and FRAND‑related topics, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Litigation Program Management
    • Lead litigation investment and program management, ensuring alignment between licensing and litigation strategies.
    • Coordinate commercial activities across licensing and litigation projects to support long‑term portfolio value.
  • Economic Analysis & Portfolio Oversight
    • Provide economic analysis services to support commercial decision‑making across functions.
    • Oversee and coordinate the overall portfolio story, including external alignment where relevant.
  • Governance, Best Practices & Financial Ownership
    • Develop and maintain licensing‑related best practices and governance frameworks.
    • Own commercial management OPEX and financial KPIs, driving transparency and performance.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field (MBA or equivalent is an advantage)
  • Solid understanding of IPR management, commercial governance, risk management, and compliance
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment
  • Proven senior‑level experience in commercial management, legal or commercial finance, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong track record of leading complex commercial negotiations and managing high‑value contracts across their full lifecycle
  • Advanced financial acumen, including pricing models, profitability analysis, business case development
  • Deep understanding of legal and commercial risk management, contractual risk, and governance frameworks
  • Experience working closely with Legal on contract structures, terms, and compliance matters
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical commercial solutions and operational execution
  • Strong leadership capability with experience building, leading, and developing high‑performing teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders and executives constructively
  • High level of commercial judgment and decision‑making under ambiguity and time pressure
  • Strong analytical mindset combined with a pragmatic, results‑oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex commercial topics clearly
  • Experience driving change and continuous improvement in commercial processes and ways of working
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
