We are seeking talented and motivated patent attorneys to apply their legal, technical, and communication skills with engineers and business units to build and develop the highest quality, high‑value worldwide patent portfolio. The selected candidate will be required to understand the technology, business plans, product roadmaps, industry practices, domestic and international patent laws, and work in a cooperative atmosphere to prosecute and secure high‑quality, strategic patent assets throughout the world.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Draft Office Action Responses in‑house and with external patent attorneys
- Conduct interviews with examiners
- Perform patent infringement and validity analyses
- Collaborate with counsel across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local practices and law
- Understand telecommunications standards (e.g., 3GPP technical standards)
- Work with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges
- Participate in and potentially lead the selection of high‑quality, strategic patent assets
- Review and update telecom (3GPP) standards‑related claim charts
- Implement prosecution strategies focused on strengthening claims to align with business goals and potential licensing or infringement scenarios
Key Skills And Experience
- Qualified European Patent Attorney, US Patent Attorney
- Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience at a law firm and/or in a Corporate IP department, with meaningful exposure to managing patent portfolios, drafting and prosecuting patents, developing strategies, and conducting analysis
- MS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a closely related technology area
- Experience in telecommunications, working knowledge of 3GPP standards and/or experience in standards‑based patent prosecution
- Proactive, result‑oriented, and highly motivated to excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
It Would Be Nice If You Also Had
- Experience at a top law firm and/or in‑house experience with large telecommunications companies
- Experience in claim charting related to 3GPP standards
- Collaborative and responsible team‑player mentality
