We are looking for a business‑savvy and action‑oriented Head of Economic and Market Analysis with knowledge of intellectual property licensing and valuation. In this role, you will lead and coach the team of analysts and collaborate on strategic projects with business leaders, lawyers, technical experts, and academic researchers. The work includes supporting the patent licensing customer interactions, so strong presentation and influencing skills are required.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

You will lead our Market and Economic Analysis team. This is a rare opportunity to apply your economic skills to real‑world business challenges of monetizing our industry‑leading patent portfolio and collaborate with our world‑leading professionals. As part of our team, you will:

  • Own the pricing and FRAND management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the overall patent portfolio story (incl. FRAND).
  • Lead, coach and empower a team responsible for economic and market analysis.
  • Contribute to deal‑making by providing valuation and pricing insights.
  • Provide litigation support on FRAND & valuation topics to our litigation team and outside counsel.
  • Drive innovation in patent analytics to enhance portfolio valuation and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Shape Nokia’s views on intellectual‑property regulation and innovation policy.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Master’s degree in economics.
  • Proven experience as an applied economist in industry or economic consulting.
  • Intellectual property experience, particularly with standard‑essential patents and FRAND licensing, is a strong advantage.
  • A sharp business mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Proactive approach to solving complex problems and driving execution.
  • A hands‑on, action‑oriented mindset, with the ability to balance analytical thinking with practical execution.
  • Fluency in both written and oral English and excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with non‑economist stakeholders and leaders is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and driving results, with a focus on collaboration and practical execution.
  • Strong statistical and econometric skills with proven proficiency in a statistical programming language such as R or Stata.
  • Experience and interest in applying AI tools.
