I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading FinTech company in Newcastle that is looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where you’ll have real ownership over technical products and projects from day one.
The Role:
As a Frontend Developer, you’ll play a key role in building and improving user-facing applications. You’ll collaborate with various business functions to ensure technical solutions align with real business needs, while also staying ahead of the latest industry trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of technical products and projects, actively engaging with different business functions to drive innovation.
- Understand the true business need beyond the stated requirements and propose the best technical solutions.
- Challenge existing systems and processes to improve efficiency and drive excellence.

What They’re Looking For:
- Strong programming and technology skills, with recent hands-on experience in React and TypeScript.
- Extensive experience working with Websockets, SignalR, or other real-time push technologies.
- Experience with containers and orchestration.
- A passion for UX and usability, ensuring the best possible user experience.
- The ability to collaborate across development teams and engage directly with users to understand their needs.
- An entrepreneurial mindset – someone who takes ownership, thrives on solving complex problems, and embraces innovation.
- A desire to understand and solve business challenges, build domain knowledge, and develop expertise in financial technology.
- Financial Services experience is a plus but not essential.
- A strong academic background, with a 2:1 or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, ideally from a highly regarded university.
