Noggin HQ is a VC-backed financial technology company based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Noggin’s core technology helps companies accept more creditworthy individuals by automatically categorising and enriching Open Banking data collected as part of credit applications.
The role:
- Own the design, development, and deployment of key features, while setting technical direction and standards.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems from the ground up.
- Collaborate closely with the Founders, Senior Leadership Team, and Data Team, to shape the product roadmap.
- Make technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
- Follow secure development practices and uphold the highest standards as it relates to IT security.
- Take initiative in solving challenging technical problems with minimal oversight.
- Be a self-starter who can take real ownership and responsibility for their work and objectives, be highly organised and have excellent communication & time management skills.

- Firebase Auth - essential
- Drizzle ORM - desirable

Experience & skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer utilising essential current tech stack.
- Relevant degree, e.g., Computer Science.
- Database management and database optimisation.
- Domain relevant experience, e.g., have worked at an FCA/PRA-regulated firm, including banks, lenders, financial data companies, credit risk companies, Credit Reference Agencies.
- Comfortable with AWS and Cloud Infrastructure.
- Understand ISO 27001 requirements.
