About Us: We are a North East startup backed by Bethnal Green Ventures and Oxford Capital, with an all-female founding team dedicated to inclusivity. Our mission is to revolutionise access to credit, ensuring equitable access for all. The 2024 winner of the Startup Award at the North East Business Awards, we’re a highly motivated team that values creativity, ownership, and delivering exceptional results. If you are committed to contributing to reshaping the credit landscape, we’d love to hear from you. Responsibilities: As one of Noggin’s early employees, you will play a key role in driving the company forward: Developing our web-based platform. A stack consisting of Angular, Typescript, AWS, Postgres and Python. Collaborating with the wider company (including Founders) to design and implement new features, and run tests and shape our strategy. Shaping the technical roadmap and ensuring we deliver against it. Optimising our systems for performance, scalability, and security. Testing and maintaining our platform to ensure users consistently have a great experience. About You: 3+ years of software engineering experience, including AWS experience. High attention to detail – you can plan the delivery of projects, and ensure requirements are fully scoped. You’re comfortable with shifting priorities and understand how to balance speed and quality effectively (ideally having worked in a startup before, but not essential). Excellent communication – you can ensure stakeholders understand the business impact of technical decisions being made. Motivated – you’re a self-starter, driven by the bigger picture of building something that solves a real problem for our users. You live in the North East – or within commutable distance to Newcastle. Bonus Points (nice to haves): experience working with our stack and/or experience working at a consumer lender or even a Credit Reference Agency. Why join us? The chance to make a real impact in the lives of 5.8 million UK adults who are currently excluded from accessing credit. Salary (£40,000 – £60,000 dependent on experience) + meaningful equity. Flexibility – we can offer flexible and hybrid work arrangements to best suit your needs. A * very nice * office in the Toffee Factory – where the founders work daily. 25 days holiday. You will be close to all decisions being made, with a voice to shape the direction of the company. How to Apply: Please share your CV and a brief email/cover letter to hello@nogginhq.co.uk outlining your relevant experience and why you think this role is a good fit for you. We’re excited to hear from you!
