Safeguarding Officer

As Safeguarding Officer at Noel-Baker Academy, you will play a vital role in protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Working closely with the Senior Safeguarding Officer and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will support the delivery of effective safeguarding practice across the academy, ensuring that pupils feel safe, listened to and supported.

You will provide professional advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding and child protection matters, support referrals to external agencies, maintain accurate safeguarding records, and contribute to assessments and multi-agency working. You will help ensure that concerns are responded to promptly and appropriately, and that safeguarding processes are robust, consistent and compliant with statutory guidance.

A key aspect of the role will be building strong relationships with pupils, families, staff and external partners, helping to create a culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and children’s voices are heard.

You will support children in need, those with SEND, young carers and other vulnerable pupils, working to remove barriers to learning and promote positive educational outcomes. Through effective information sharing and collaboration with teaching staff and leaders, you will help ensure that safeguarding concerns are understood holistically and that pupils receive the right support at the right time.

You will also contribute to staff induction and training, promote awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures, and support the wider safeguarding strategy within the academy.

• Show strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Be committed to ongoing professional development and safeguarding training Work collaboratively as part of a wider safeguarding and pastoral team
