About the role
Acts as the technical bridge between Architecture, Delivery, Support and Security Operations, ensuring designs, standards and services are practical, deliverable and supportable. Provides technical design assurance and governance across Network and Security services, ensuring consistency with approved standards, reference architectures and operational requirements. Owns the onboarding, operationalisation and adoption of new Network and Security services, including emerging technologies such as SASE, FortiNAC and future strategic portfolio developments. Works closely with project teams and support teams to ensure services can be successfully delivered, accepted into service and operated at scale. Drives technical standardisation, repeatability, automation and continuous improvement across the Network and Security Practice.
Responsibilities
- Act as the operational Technical Design Authority for Network and Security services, providing practical design governance and technical assurance.
- Review and assure designs, low-level designs, implementation approaches and technical deliverables produced by Delivery, Professional Services and partner resources.
- Assist with the design and maintenance of reference architectures, deployment standards, implementation templates and configuration standards in conjunction with the Architecture team.
- Operate design review and technical assurance processes, challenging deviations where standards, supportability or operational requirements are not met.
- Support the introduction of new Network and Security services through technical validation, proof-of-concept activities, service onboarding, operational readiness assessment and documentation development.
- Develop deployment standards, build guides, configuration templates, operational procedures and support artefacts required for successful service adoption.
- Work with Delivery teams to improve consistency, quality and repeatability across implementations.
- Work with Support and Security Operations teams to ensure monitoring, documentation, supportability and operational acceptance requirements are incorporated into service designs.
- Provide senior technical guidance and escalation support for complex or strategic Network and Security opportunities and deliveries.
- Contribute to technical product strategy and service evolution through collaboration with Architecture, OCTO, Product and Delivery functions.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation and simplification that improve delivery quality, supportability and commercial scalability.
- Deliver technical mentoring, training and knowledge transfer activities across Delivery, Support and Architecture teams.
What will you bring?
- Significant experience in Network and Security architecture, consultancy, service design or technical delivery roles within an MSP or systems integration environment.
- Strong practical expertise across enterprise networking, security and managed services technologies.
- Experience developing standards, reference architectures, deployment methodologies and operational procedures.
- Experience introducing new products or services into managed service environments, including validation, onboarding and operational readiness activities.
- Strong understanding of service acceptance, operational supportability and transition-to-support processes.
- Experience working across Architecture, Delivery and Operational Support functions.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring and stakeholder management capability.
- Experience with Fortinet technologies, SD-WAN, SASE, NAC, Network Security and related managed service technologies would be advantageous.
