We want you to grow, learn, and evolve alongside us. So, whether you're just starting out in your career or looking to progress as an industry professional, Node4 has a place for you.

About the role: Node4 seeks a skilled Data Platform Consultant with technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent communication skills to deliver innovative data solutions. You’ll understand client needs, design and implement data architectures, and ensure high-quality data services that add business value. Node4 is a growing technology company valuing innovation, client satisfaction, and professional growth. You’ll work on exciting projects, develop skills, and significantly impact client success.

We work with diverse businesses, from fast-growing startups to large multinationals across various sectors. In the public sector, we deliver data implementation programmes for Central Government Departments, such as acting as the strategic data partner for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. This experience provides exceptional insight into data-driven decisions in different contexts, supporting strategic decision-making in various settings. Our clients are mainly UK-based. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to client sites and our UK offices for team gatherings.

The successful candidate will be excited by a role in which new challenges are constantly presented for us to solve. The data problems we solve are diverse and evolving, requiring skills to identify, access, explore and query various database platforms, including on-premises SQL databases, IaaS and PaaS SQL, cloud databases, and application APIs. The role demands strong, extensive data engineering skills to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into suitable repositories and models, collaborating with colleagues to solve each new problem.

Experience in Microsoft data analytics applications, particularly Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services, is needed for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and presentation of impactful data repositories and models. The role mainly focuses on data platform and engineering workloads before visualisation/reporting, blending with our Analytics team to deliver holistic Data and Analytics solutions. Along with these technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The role involves daily direct communication with clients while designing and implementing data solutions, requiring the ability to build rapport, understand and advise our clients.

Your primary responsibility will be to participate in the scoping, design, documentation and implementation of Data Platform solutions to our clients in a client facing role, and your experience will reflect the necessary consultancy skillsets. Activities you would be expected to conduct include:

  • Conduct workshops with our clients, working closely with your cross-functional colleagues, to understand and capture their solution requirements.
  • Producing High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation, to capture client requirements and design the intended solution.
  • Implement and configure the designed solutions in accordance with our design and implementation standards, with the support of senior and principal consultants in the practice.
  • Provide technical authority in the course of project delivery, working constructively with our clients and project managers.
  • Provide pre-sales support to our sales and marketing teams when required, including contributing to bid and tender responses.
  • Provide technical assurance/governance to our clients.
  • Work as part of a broader technical team delivering large multi-technology solutions to our clients, which will include Data and Analytics solutions.

What will you bring?

  • 5+ years experience with the implementation of data and analytics architectures and data modelling.
  • Experience of (and an appreciation of the importance of) writing high quality, detailed technical documentation.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Microsoft Data PySpark (desirable).
  • Proven experience in a client facing data consultancy role designing, implementing, and supporting data solutions.
  • Ability to lead business and technical discussions.
  • Self-driven ambition to deliver excellence in collaboration with your team, with a drive and desire to learn and develop.
  • Strong problem-solving nature, with the ability to examine a problem and involve the appropriate people at the appropriate time.
  • Must hold or be able to successfully achieve and maintain Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV3) status, and national Security Check (SC) clearance.

What can we offer you?

  • Hybrid Working.
  • Private Medical Insurance or Company Paid Health Cash Plan.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • 25 days holidays plus your birthday off.
  • Option to purchase additional holiday (up to 5 days).
  • Company Pension Scheme.
  • Life Assurance x 4.
  • A diverse workforce.
  • Employee investment with Node4 training Academy.
  • Family savings and shopping discounts through the Node4 benefits portal.
  • Discounted Gym Membership.
  • Modern facilities with open and welcoming breakout areas.
  • Company Social events.
