About the role

The Public Sector Business Development Manager is responsible for the origination, development, and closure of opportunities across new logo and development accounts. The role is responsible for developing and closing new opportunities through the Node4 portfolio and sector understanding. The role reports directly to the Public Sector Sales Director or Sector Lead.

Strategy & Planning:

  • Identify, pursue and land leads; hunt for new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other roles as required to achieve prospective account and client objectives.
  • Apply sector understanding to support origination and territory development.
  • Understand customer needs and develop appropriate product recommendations.
  • Develop proposals and execute client negotiation.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to co-sell and develop territory.

Execution:

  • Demonstrate complex understanding of Public customer needs and Public market trends.
  • Understand Public procurement strategies and engagement requirements.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of IT Services & Node4 offerings.
  • Keep up with trends in related industry and competitors.
  • Support corporate objectives and highlight the delivery of key selling messages and provide a high-level of service toward being the best-in-class IT Services provider.
  • Support the creation of high-quality responses and pitch material, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts.

What will you bring?

  • Professional Experience: 5 years of sales experience, including 5+ years of client-facing IT services new business success.
  • Sector Experience: 2+ years of Public Sector experience, demonstrating understanding of procurement and engagement requirements.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Expert with Microsoft Word or Powerpoint; Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management.
  • Communication: Advanced verbal and written communication skills; Advanced presentation skills.
  • Technical Skills: Foundational understanding of modern technology landscape and computing trends.
  • Executive Presence: Able to effectively influence C-suite peers and collaborate effectively with sales and service stakeholders.
  • Specific Technical Experience: Proven sales success in one or more of the following domains:
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM solutions.
    • Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions (e.g. Sharepoint).
    • Microsoft Data solutions (Data Lake, Power BI analytics solutions).
    • Microsoft Cloud solutions (Azure compute, identity, access).
  • Partner Experience: Proven success of co-selling with strategic partners, preferably Microsoft.
