About the role
The Analytics Business Partner (Practices) is a domain-aligned role responsible for translating data into actionable, strategic insights that support Node4’s Practices function, encompassing Delivery, Support, and Customer Success. Embedded within the Practices function, the Analytics Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by combining deep operational understanding with strong analytical capability and hands-on expertise in Power BI modelling and reporting.
This role goes beyond descriptive reporting. The Analytics Business Partner is accountable for:
- Building and maintaining Power BI semantic models.
- Developing executive-grade reports and dashboards.
- Delivering forward-looking, insight-led analysis that informs operational, commercial, and strategic decision-making.
- Driving improvements in service performance, customer outcomes, resource utilisation, and operational efficiency.
The role works closely with Practices leadership, the Data Platform team, and junior analytics roles to ensure insights are trusted, relevant, and aligned to Node4’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as the primary analytics partner for the Delivery, Support, and Customer Success leadership teams.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Practices.
- Develop a deep understanding of operational processes, service delivery models, customer success objectives, and associated KPIs.
- Influence decision-making through insight-led recommendations rather than simply providing data.
- Ensure analytics activity supports operational excellence, customer retention, customer satisfaction, service performance, and profitability objectives.
- Support strategic initiatives through analysis of operational performance, customer outcomes, capacity, and service efficiency.
- Analytics Delivery & Enablement
- Translate business questions into analytical approaches, models, and meaningful outputs.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Define and own measures, calculations, and KPI logic (including DAX) in partnership with stakeholders.
- Ensure models are performant, scalable, and aligned to agreed business definition.
- Develop high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards, including senior leadership and board-level reporting.
- Drive consistency of KPIs and performance measures across Delivery, Support, and Customer Success teams.
- Support the transition from manual or fragmented reporting to scalable, insight-driven solutions.
- Insight & Analysis
- Deliver tailored, domain-specific insights that drive commercial, operational, and strategic outcomes.
- Move beyond descriptive reporting toward diagnostic, predictive, and forward-looking analysis.
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities before they surface as requests.
- Own the analytical narrative for the domain, including interpretation, insight, and recommendation.
- Collaboration & Governance Support
- Work closely with the Data Platform team to ensure high-quality, trusted data underpins insights.
- Support data governance initiatives by highlighting data quality issues, definition gaps, and ownership questions (without owning governance execution).
- Champion data literacy by helping stakeholders understand and use insights effectively.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide analytical oversight and direction to junior analysts supporting the domain.
- Review and assure the quality of analytical outputs, including BAU reporting where applicable.
- Promote best practices in analytics, visualisation, and insight storytelling.
What will you bring?
- 3 to 5+ years’ experience in analytics, business intelligence, operational analytics, or data analysis roles.
- Proven experience building Power BI semantic models and reports.
- Strong DAX and data modelling capability.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions with data.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling insights.
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a focus on impact rather than output.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a business-partner or embedded analytics model.
- Experience within Managed Services, IT Services, Customer Success, Service Delivery, Support Operations, or Professional Services environments.
- Exposure to predictive analytics, forecasting, or advanced analytical techniques.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI.
- Understanding of operational service management frameworks and performance measures.
- Experience analysing customer lifecycle, retention, utilisation, service performance, or project delivery data.
- Highly desirable Microsoft certifications: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
