About Node & Vector

Node & Vector is an executive and technical search firm specialising in frontier technology. We partner with venture-backed companies to hire senior leadership and build technically exceptional teams across Digital Assets, AI and Frontier Tech. Our clients include some of the most ambitious projects in the space. We operate retained executive searches and contingent team build-outs, placing CTOs, Heads of Engineering, Protocol Leads, AI Researchers, and other high-impact technical and commercial talent.

The Role

We're looking for an Associate to join our team as a 360 recruiter, owning the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing through to close. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role where you'll work directly alongside the founding team on live mandates for the most innovative companies in frontier technology. You'll be expected to develop deep candidate networks, manage client relationships, and build genuine expertise in the markets we serve. This isn't a support role. You'll run your own desk and be accountable for delivery from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Source & engage top-tier technical and leadership talent through direct outreach, referral networks, and creative research methods
  • Manage candidates end-to-end, from first conversation through offer negotiation and close
  • Build client relationships by understanding hiring briefs deeply, advising on market positioning, and delivering structured shortlists founders can act on quickly
  • Map markets and develop proprietary knowledge across protocol engineering, smart contracts, AI/ML, DeFi, and adjacent technical domains
  • Own your pipeline with a disciplined, data-driven approach to tracking candidates, activity, and conversion
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and helping expand our client base over time

What We're Looking For

  • 0–3 years of professional experience. This could be in recruitment, sales, business development, or another high-intensity, results-driven role
  • 360 mindset. Comfortable (or eager to become comfortable) managing the full cycle: business development, client management, sourcing, screening, and closing
  • Strong communicator. You'll be speaking to CTOs, founders, and senior engineers daily; you need to hold your own
  • Intellectually curious. Genuine interest in technology, startups, and the venture ecosystem; you don't need to be a developer, but you should want to understand what our candidates actually do
  • Self-starter. We're a small, high-performing team; you'll need to be proactive, organised, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Resilient. Search is demanding; you'll face rejection and long timelines; the best associates keep moving forward

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in tech recruitment, particularly in software engineering, blockchain, or AI hiring
  • Existing network in Tech, crypto, AI, or the venture-backed startup ecosystem
  • Familiarity with sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, etc.)
  • Interest in or exposure to digital assets and decentralised technology
  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in a STEM discipline

Really Nice to Have

  • You have unique ideas on what the next generation of consultancies should look like
  • Strong social media presence. Whether it's across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram etc.
  • Keen to get into GTM, Growth and Marketing alongside your recruitment functions

What We Offer

  • Working directly with the Managing Director. Real mentorship, not layers of middle management
  • Direct exposure to the founders and leadership teams of some of the most exciting companies in frontier tech
  • A steep learning curve. You'll develop domain expertise that is genuinely scarce and valuable
  • Competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure
  • Autonomy and ownership from day one. No bureaucracy, no micromanagement
  • Flexible, remote-first working environment
