Location: Two schools in London - Putney, SW15 6EH and Southfields, SW19 6SP
Salary: Level 3 and above - £33,000; Level 2 - £27,500
Job Type: Full time/ Permanent
Working hours: Monday - Friday; 7:15am-5:15pm / 8am-6pm / 8:30am-6:30pm (1 hour lunch break + 15 min coffee/tea break)
Please note that the company does not offer sponsorship and this is an onsite position, therefore candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be a commutable distance from the school to be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the high standards and philosophy of Noddy's is always implemented in front of children, parents and other staff members.
- Ensure that you are following the Early Years Foundation Stage, using all relevant paperwork to plan, observe, track and move children forward to their next stage of development.
- Being responsible for a key group of children, keeping an accurate record of their developments and achievements.
- Write termly learning journeys for each child in your key group.
- Being aware of each child's individual care needs, including medical information, sleeping and dietary needs.
- Record the children's sleep times, eating habits and bottle-feeds and undertake weekly observations.
- Preparation and completion of activities, both in the classroom and in the garden, to suit each child's stage of development.
- Ensure that the children are safe and safeguarding procedures are always adhered to.
- Ensure children who are unwell are monitored in line with our sickness & temperature policies and that management are notified so arrangements can be made with the parents if they need to collect their child from Noddy's.
- Provide toys, activities and equipment that is appropriate to each child's developmental stage.
- Sing, read stories and play games with the children.
- Supervise at meal times, feeding and serving food, as necessary.
- Change nappies at regular times throughout the day or when required.
- Create displays with the children's work and ensure that the classrooms always have displays up.
- Wash up any painting materials or kitchen utensils used and clear up after activities.
- Assisting in the induction process for new children who have just joined Noddy's.
- Ensure that safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are always maintained.
- Communicate regularly within the team, supporting other members of staff within your room and school.
- Greet, approach and talk to parents every day.
- Perform termly parent / teacher meetings - 3 per year.
- Liaise with parents, carers or family members, forming professional relationships and share with them their child's development.
- To be flexible within working practices of the nursery, helping where required.
- To work alongside management ensuring the standards and philosophy of the nursery are maintained.
- To attend out of hours meetings, such as parent evenings, events and staff meetings.
- Always uphold the reputation and standards of Noddy's, both within working hours and outside.
- Work together as a team with your fellow staff members.
About you
- Experience working in nursery school preferred.
- Level 2 / Level 3 / Level 5 / QTS - Early years qualification preferred.
