Shift Pattern: Nights – 9:00pm to 7:00am (including weekends & Bank Holidays)
Nocturnal Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking an experienced Night Team Leader to work ongoing night shifts within a residential care home in East London. The service supports 40+ residents with a range of needs, including elderly care, dementia, mental health difficulties, and challenging behaviour. This role requires a confident, compassionate leader with strong experience in personal care, night-time support, and managing teams within a residential setting.
Role Overview
As the Night Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the night service, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of residents, while leading and supporting the night staff team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of Night Support Workers during shifts
- Allocate shifts and duties effectively to ensure safe staffing levels
- Provide staff supervision, guidance, and on-shift support
- Carry out resident night checks and respond appropriately to needs
- Administer medication during night shifts when required
- Update night care plans and risk assessments
- Complete daily/nightly reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure Health & Safety, environmental, and security checks are completed
- Deal confidently and calmly with emergencies during the night
- Participate in out-of-hours on-call response when required
- Promote a person-centred approach that supports residents’ dignity, aspirations, and quality of life
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Team Leader within elderly/dementia care
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care
- Proven Team Leader experience supporting elderly residents and individuals with dementia
- Experience working with challenging behaviour
- Confident in medication administration and documentation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Valid DBS issued within the last 12 months (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one
- Flexible to work nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays
