Nocturnal Recruitment are currently hiring experienced support workers who have previously worked with young adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. If you have previous experience as a support worker and have a compassionate nature towards working with vulnerable individuals in a care setting, this role is for you.
Your roles/responsibilities:
- Maintaining a valuable connection with each service user at the service. This includes being proactive and allowing them to pursue their hobbies and interests with the right amount of care and supervision.
- Promote choice, dignity, and independence at all times.
- Always offering emotional support and actively listening to each service user and their needs.
- Using de-escalation tactics when being approached with complex or challenging behaviours.
- Reporting any potential health & safety concerns regarding a service user to the main point of contact in the service.
- Taking service users out into the local community and allowing them to keep up with their physical fitness.
Must have:
- At least 1 year experience working with young adults with learning disabilities and mental health challenges in a supported living environment or similar setting.
- A current enhanced DBS certificate preferably on the update service.
- Desirably, an NVQ level 2 or above qualification in Health & Social Care.
