Nocturnal Recruitment is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a locality-based Health and Adult Social Services (HASS) multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful, person-centred interventions that support adults to live safely and independently within their communities. You will contribute to a collaborative, integrated health and social care environment, undertaking complex assessments and leading on major adaptations. The role offers structured supervision, flexible working, and clear professional development pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex occupational therapy assessments, delivering holistic and person-centred evaluations for individuals with diverse health needs and their carers.
  • Assess, design, and recommend major adaptations and complex equipment, including interpreting plans, preparing sketches, and producing detailed specifications.
  • Complete comprehensive manual handling assessments and provide clear, practical guidance for safe mobility, transfers, and positioning.
  • Recommend and review both standard and specialist equipment, ensuring safe use in line with legislation and policy.
  • Manage and prioritise a complex caseload, progressing cases efficiently through the service.
  • Develop and review support plans collaboratively with service users, within social care and housing legislation frameworks.
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant records in line with HCPC standards and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration.
  • Strong experience in major adaptations and complex equipment provision.
  • In-depth knowledge of manual handling and specialist equipment assessments.
  • Proven ability to carry out complex, person-centred assessments and support planning.
  • Sound understanding of social care legislation and housing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise complex caseloads independently.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within an Occupational Therapy duty service.
