Examiner – ESOL International

NOCN Group are seeking to recruit ESOL International examiners. You will need to be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining the quality and accuracy of your work. You will also be experienced with a high level of subject knowledge in the area of ESOL Skills for Life, ESOL International or English. Markers are required to mark in accordance with NOCN Group procedures and standards. Examiners will mark candidate responses in accordance to predesigned mark schemes. ESOL International experience would be desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

This role will be on a self-employed basis.

Examiner responsibilities:

  • To mark accurately and consistently.
  • To ensure overall standards are maintained.
  • To ensure all administration is completed as specified.

Experience:

  • You will have some experience of teaching.
  • You will have a teaching qualification or be working towards a relevant qualification.

Competencies:

  • You will have the ability to work well under pressure.
  • You will have the ability to meet deadlines.

Information:

  • ESOL International comprises of four units: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • The marking period takes place at least twice yearly i.e. June/July and January/February
  • Training is mandatory prior to any marking and will take place between April and June

If your application is successful, you will be required to complete mandatory online training, and you will receive feedback. All training is paid.

The examiner role is to be conducted to the standard required by the NOCN Group. This includes NOCN Group quality systems, procedures, documentation and reporting mechanisms, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the awarding organisation and compliance with NOCN Group Quality Assurance requirements and regulatory standards.
