The HR team supports Nockolds' people-first culture by ensuring colleagues have the guidance, tools and processes they need to thrive. Working in partnership with leaders across the Firm, HR provides a professional, approachable and confidential service across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance, wellbeing, employee relations and policy. The team also supports workforce planning, people data, systems and continuous improvement of the employee experience.
About the Role
Key role information: This learning and development role sits within HR and involves regular contact with colleagues, managers, external training providers, schools, universities and careers partners. This is a part-time role for 3 days a week and we can be flexible with the days/times worked. You will design, deliver and improve learning across Nockolds, supporting strategic objectives, early careers, development processes, learning systems, communications and reporting.
You will be responsible for:
- Design, deliver and evaluate engaging learning and development programmes aligned to Firm priorities.
- Research course materials, develop new learning opportunities and deliver induction training for new joiners.
- Support the Nockolds Academy and manage programmes for trainee solicitors, newly qualified colleagues and leaders.
- Manage early careers activity, including trainee solicitor, vacation placement, apprenticeship, work experience and careers event programmes.
- Conduct learning needs analysis, manage the learning and development budget and use feedback, data and reporting to inform priorities.
- Advise colleagues and managers on training options and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Maintain learning intranet content, communications and the Access LMS platform.
- Manage Development Reviews and Partners' 360° Reviews and support wider HR projects.
About You
We are looking for a proactive learning and development professional with strong organisational and communication skills, sound judgement and the confidence to work with colleagues, managers and external providers across the Firm. This role may suit someone who has been an HR Advisor and wants to specialise in their new role.
The successful candidate will have:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience designing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating learning for different audiences.
- Ability to conduct learning needs analysis and translate findings into practical learning solutions.
- Understanding of face-to-face, virtual and blended learning approaches.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, HR systems, learning platforms, intranet pages and other digital tools.
- Strong organisational skills, including accurate records, clear reporting and coordination of multiple programmes and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting early careers, trainee, apprenticeship or graduate development programmes is desirable.
- Experience in professional services, legal or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
