Tamworth (hybrid – 2 days onsite) | Full-time, permanent
The whole marketing function. Not a slice of it. Most marketing roles these days come pre-sliced. You’re a copywriter, or a designer, or “the social one”, or you do email. That’s not this job. Our client is a member-led professional body in the construction sector. Small team, recognised brand, plenty going on. Their Head of Marketing is an external consultant who sets the strategy. They need someone to go in and actually do the marketing. That’s the role. The whole thing.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Writing emails that get opened.
- Building campaigns in Mailchimp.
- Designing assets in Canva or Adobe that look like they belong to the brand, not to a free template.
- Keeping the website up to date.
- Scheduling LinkedIn content.
- Producing copy for events, awards, news and member comms.
- Pushing notifications through their member app.
- Pulling the numbers each month and saying what’s working.
- When there’s an exhibition, you’re the person who turns up, takes the photo, writes the post and gets it live before lunch.
What we’re looking for:
- 2-4 years in a generalist marketing role.
- Copy that doesn’t need rewriting.
- Confident in Mailchimp (or similar), a CMS, a CRM and LinkedIn.
- Proficient design skills – Canva, Adobe, whichever you prefer.
- The kind of person who, when handed something they’ve never done before, goes and figures it out.
Two things to know upfront:
- One – the reporting line is a bit unusual. You’ll get strategic direction from the external Head of Marketing, and day‑to‑day line management from the Head of Membership inside the business. In practice this means a lot of autonomy; you’re not waiting on one person for everything.
- Two – it’s two days a week in Tamworth, non‑negotiable. If that doesn’t work for you geographically, this isn’t the one.
Why this is a good move:
In three years here, you'll have done more, broken more things, fixed more things, and learned which bits of marketing you actually want to specialise in than you would in a role where someone's already decided that for you. If that sounds like the right next step get in touch.
