As Chief Engineer, you will lead the Engineering division with vision and precision - ensuring the hotel's infrastructure, safety and performance meet the highest standards of luxury hospitality. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for strategic planning, compliance, and the seamless operation of all building systems, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and performance of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life-safety.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program to minimise downtime.
- Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, Building Regulations and statutory testing requirements.
- Manage the Engineering budget, including cost control, forecasting and CAPEX planning.
- Lead vendor sourcing, contract management and procurement to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee refurbishment, upgrade and sustainability projects aligned with ESG goals.
- Maintain accurate records for all plant, equipment and statutory documentation.
- Train, mentor and develop the Engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and uphold Nobu brand standards.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure continuity of service at all times.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience.
- Perform any other duties required to support the smooth operation of the hotel.
