The Role As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction and commercial success of Nobu Hotel London Portman Square. Acting as the driving force behind the hotel's performance, you will ensure every aspect of the operation consistently delivers an exceptional luxury guest experience while achieving ambitious financial and business objectives. Working closely with ownership and Iconic Hotels & Resorts specialists, you will define the hotel's vision, translate strategy into clear priorities and ensure exceptional execution across all areas of the business. Success requires visible 'people first' leadership, strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and the ability to inspire high-performing teams while building trust and alignment across a diverse stakeholder group. What You'll Be Doing Lead the overall commercial and financial performance of the hotel, driving revenue growth, profitability and owner returns. Champion exceptional guest experiences, ensuring brand standards are consistently delivered through genuine ' Omotenashi ' hospitality. Set the strategic direction of the hotel, leading long-term planning and business priorities in partnership with ownership and corporate stakeholders. Oversee budgeting, forecasting and business planning, ensuring strong financial performance and disciplined cost control. Strengthen the hotel's market position through impactful sales, marketing, PR and brand initiatives. Develop and inspire a high-performing Executive Committee and leadership team, creating a strong pipeline of future talent. Foster an engaging and inclusive culture built on Nobu's values of Family, Crafted, Smile and Kokoro. Drive innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement across all areas of the business. Build strong relationships within the luxury hospitality community, acting as an ambassador for the hotel, Nobu and Iconic Hotels & Resorts. Ensure the highest standards of governance, compliance, health & safety and risk management. Lead the hotel through periods of change, major projects and operational challenges with confidence and clarity. Champion sustainability and responsible business practices while protecting the long-term value of the asset.. What We're Looking For We are seeking an accomplished luxury hotel leader with a proven track record of delivering exceptional commercial performance, operational excellence and memorable guest experiences. Commercially astute and strategically minded, you will have significant experience leading complex hotel operations, driving sustainable growth and translating business strategy into measurable results. You will be a confident communicator, capable of building strong relationships with ownership, stakeholders, guests and colleagues alike. With a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality landscape, you will combine innovation, adaptability and attention to detail with a visible, warm and inspiring leadership style. Most importantly, you will lead with integrity, authenticity and purpose, embodying Nobu's values of Family, Crafted, Smile and Kokoro. Significant leadership experience within a luxury hotel environment. Previous experience as a General Manager or equivalent senior property leader. A proven record of delivering exceptional guest, colleague and commercial results within a complex operation. Full accountability for P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting and strategic business planning. Strong operational knowledge across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Meetings & Events and wider hotel operations. Experience building high-performing teams, succession pipelines and leadership capability. The ability to combine strategic vision, commercial acumen and visible operational leadership. Credibility with ownership, corporate stakeholders and senior business partners. Experience leading change, transformation, asset enhancement or major projects would be advantageous.
