About You: We are looking for a Senior Buyer on our key department of Knitwear/Jersey on a Fixed Term Maternity Contract to lead a team of Buyers in your respective departments, executing comprehensive buying strategies for all product categories, aligning with Nobody’s Child company goals and market trends. Reporting into the Head of Buying and Tech, you could find yourself:
- Working closely with the Head of Buying to execute comprehensive buying strategies for your product categories, aligning with the company's goals and market trends.
- Leading on all sign offs with the CEO.
- Leading a team of buyers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Working closely with CEO and the team on the sustainability strategy and driving that as a key priority through the buying, design and quality functions.
- Understanding of key fabrics and certificates.
- Instrumental in continuing to drive our transparency project for the Digital Product Passport.
- Identifying emerging trends, consumer preferences, and market opportunities in your department to curate a compelling and profitable product assortment.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers across varied regions in short and long lead, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring the highest quality products.
- Conducting regular market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify potential gaps or opportunities.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as quality control, merchandising, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless coordination and alignment on critical path.
- Monitoring and analysing sales performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback to optimise product assortment and drive sales growth.
- Staying up to date with industry developments, attending trade shows, and networking with industry professionals to gain insights and explore new partnerships.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, identifying process efficiencies and implementing best practices within the buying function.
To hit the ground running, you’ll come with:
- Around 7+ years of experience in Womenswear Buying across Knitwear/Jersey.
- Experience managing large and fast-paced buying teams in high growth womenswear retail businesses.
- A strong eye for product, and a passion for responsible product.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skillsets.
- Strong leadership competencies.
