About You

Nobody's Child is looking for a Senior Merchandiser on a 12 month FTC to join our team on Denim, Outerwear and Tailoring. The Senior Merchandiser will lead the merchandising function for this area, partnering closely with Buying and Design teams to deliver a commercially balanced and customer-focused product offer. This role also provides leadership and development support to Assistant Merchandisers and Merchandising Assistants, helping to drive best practice across the merchandising team.

Day to day, you would be responsible for:

  • Trading & Commercial Performance
    • Own and drive department trading performance, analysing sales, stock, margin, and sell-through to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Deliver weekly and daily trade analysis with clear actions and recommendations.
    • Monitor departmental KPIs including sales, profit, stock turn, intake margin, and markdown performance.
    • Make commercially sound decisions to optimise availability while minimising risk.
    • Drive in-season trading actions including repeats, cancellations, markdowns, and promotions.
    • Identify emerging product and customer trends to maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Planning & Forecasting
    • Develop and manage seasonal category plans in partnership with Buying.
    • Build accurate sales and stock forecasts aligned to business objectives.
    • Manage WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock & Intake) and OTB (Open to Buy) for the department.
    • Review and reforecast intake, sales, and stock positions regularly.
    • Ensure stock levels are balanced to support trading performance and customer demand.
    • Support long-term planning and strategy for department growth.
  • Stock Management
    • Manage stock levels effectively across stores and ecommerce channels.
    • Ensure strong availability on key lines while controlling overstock risk.
    • Analyse slow sellers and implement actions to improve stock productivity.
    • Drive stock optimisation through allocation, replenishment, and transfer strategies.
    • Monitor intake flow and supplier delivery performance.
    • Support warehouse and operational efficiencies through effective stock planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Buying teams to build commercially balanced product ranges.
    • Work collaboratively with Retail and Ecommerce teams to understand customer and trading performance.
    • Support Marketing and Creative teams with product focus areas and launch planning.
    • Build strong relationships with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure effective delivery management.
    • Present trading updates and recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Support and coach Assistant Merchandisers and Merchandising Assistants.
    • Encourage best practice and strong commercial thinking across the team.
    • Provide clear direction, delegation, and development support.
    • Contribute to creating a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
    • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
