Nobody's Child is looking for a passionate Junior Jersey Designer to join the design team in London. Reporting to the Head of Design, the successful applicant will work closely to execute jersey, delivering key season items, trends, details, and colour to drive Nobody's Child's growing Jersey department forward.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Working closely with the dresses team to execute range development end-to-end from the briefs given. As well as working collaboratively with all in-house departments, such as print.
- Supporting range development by proactively driving research and presenting new ideas. Showing in-depth trend knowledge, clearly identify department key items, key colours, new fabrics and details in line with the NC customer.
- Keeping sustainability at the forefront of all development, constantly researching and evolving the brand to be the market leader. Sourcing the newest sustainable fabrics and trims to elevate the range.
- Create technical design specifications for new garment developments and work alongside suppliers to ensure fit and quality is prioritised.
- Actively participate in fittings, in cooperation with buying and the tech team.
- Establish and build relationships with suppliers and fabric mills.
- Be able to work to and manage a critical path and demonstrate organisation and drive to ensure ranges and correct samples are delivered on time.
- Supporting with wholesale packs alongside the Senior designer and helping to amend this on a regular basis as needed.
- From time to time, also assisting with any other admin tasks, including but not limited to photo shoot preparation, production, fabric and trim organisation.
- From time to time where needed assisting the team with any other department needs on other departments other than your own in key seasonal pressure times.
Qualifications
- Graduate fashion degree.
- At least 4 years' industry experience in a similar role and category experience.
- A can-do attitude, with strong drive and energy to deliver.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Illustrator and InDesign design skills.
- Strong understanding of technical design packs and a strong knowledge of commercial garment construction, fabric construction and trims.
- Able to multitask and work well under pressure with pace.
- Hands‑on, flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrate a commitment and passion to deliver responsible, thoughtful design.
