About Us

Nobody’s Child is for the free thinkers, the dreamers, and the go-getters.

Born in 2015, we’ve spent the last decade creating clothes that feel as good as they look for people that embrace individuality, live with purpose, and want to leave the world a little better than they found it.

It’s been 10 years of creativity, growth, and bold ideas, and the values that guide us haven’t changed.

About You

We’re looking for an exceptional

People & Culture Lead to join our brand and play a pivotal role in building the organisation, culture and capabilities that will enable our next stage of growth.

This is a true generalist leadership role with broad ownership across the employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding through to talent development, leadership coaching, learning & development, ER, performance, engagement, organisational capability and culture.

Reporting into the CEO, you’ll be a trusted partner to the leadership team and an influential leader across the wider business, helping us attract exceptional talent, develop high-performing teams and build the structures, capabilities and culture required to scale successfully.

You’ll lead a People & Culture team of three and support a workforce of 200+ across both our growing retail portfolio and Head Office.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys operating at both strategic and practical levels - shaping the people agenda while being close enough to the business to make things happen.

  • What You’ll Own
  • People Strategy & Culture
  • Develop and deliver a People & Culture strategy aligned to the brand’s growth ambitions and commercial objectives.
  • Act as a trusted adviser and thought partner to the CEO and Senior leadership team.
  • Shape and evolve a high-performance culture that reflects our brand values and ambitions.
  • Build scalable people practices, policies and frameworks that support a fast-growing organisation.
  • Use people data, insight and engagement feedback to identify opportunities and drive better business outcomes.
  • Lead organisational change and support the business through periods of growth and transformation.
  • Actively contribute to our company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility by integrating sustainable practices into everyday work.

This includes minimising waste, promoting responsible sourcing, supporting our circular economy initiatives, and encouraging customers and colleagues to make choices that align with our sustainability values.

Every team member at NC plays a role in helping us reduce our environmental impact and create a positive legacy for our communities and the planet.

  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Brand
  • Own the end-to-end recruitment strategy across Retail and Head Office.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline and employer proposition that attracts high-calibre, diverse talent.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational design and critical hiring.
  • Continuously improve our recruitment, selection and onboarding experience.
  • Ensure we have the right talent, in the right roles, at the right time to support growth.
  • Leadership, Talent & Capability
  • Build leadership capability across the organisation through coaching, development and targeted programmes.
  • Coach and challenge senior leaders and managers to become stronger people leaders.
  • Develop frameworks for talent identification, succession planning and career development.
  • Establish and embed high-performance principles and ways of working.
  • Partner with leaders to address capability gaps and build future organisational strength.
  • Learning & Development
  • Own the L&D strategy across the organisation.
  • Identify capability priorities and translate them into impactful learning programmes.
  • Build leadership, management and functional capability at every level.
  • Develop engaging development experiences that work across both retail and corporate environments.
  • Evaluate the impact of L&D and continuously evolve the offering.
  • Performance & Engagement
  • Own the performance management approach, ensuring clarity, accountability and continuous development.
  • Lead the annual people cycle, including performance, talent and engagement.
  • Build an environment where feedback, recognition and development are part of everyday culture.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and turn feedback into meaningful action.
  • Partner with leaders on complex performance, conduct and employee relations matters.
  • People Operations & Employee Experience
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience.
  • Ensure People policies, processes and practices are fit for purpose, scalable and legally compliant.
  • Partner with payroll, HR systems and other external providers as required.
  • Maintain strong governance across employee relations, employment practices and people processes.
  • Continually look for ways to simplify, improve and digitise the employee experience.
