As a Principal Technical Consultant, you’ll own and lead technical designs that implement and optimise NetSuite solutions. You’ll set a high bar for quality and performance, ensuring reliable, well-tested customisations and integrations for our customers.
As a Principal, you’ll set standards for solving complex technical challenges, lead the development workstream within customer projects, mentor colleagues, and provide clear technical guidance to stakeholders.

- Bespoke scripts, integrations, and workflows are stable, scalable (within governance), secure, and aligned to functional requirements.
- Code is clean, well documented, and delivered on time whilst meeting the relevant technical processes and procedures.
- Stakeholders trust the builds for their reliability and ability to solve real business problems.
- Collaboration is strong across support, delivery, and product teams, ensuring solutions are built with context and sustainability.

- Release and deployment processes are strong and efficient, reducing incidents and speeding up safe change.
- Lead technical discovery workshops and translate business needs into clear technical designs.
- Utilise SuiteScript, SuiteBuilder, SuiteFlow, and other NetSuite development tools to extend platform functionality.
- Design, build, and support integrations between NetSuite and third-party systems, applications, and APIs.
- Develop and maintain integration solutions to ensure data consistency and seamless workflows across systems.
- Own technical estimates, delivery approach, and workstream plan for complex engagements.
- Analyse and troubleshoot complex issues, providing timely resolutions and implementing preventative measures.
- Document technical designs, configurations, and customisations for reference and knowledge sharing.
- Stay up to date with NetSuite releases, features, and best practices, and apply them appropriately to customer solutions.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and optimisations to enhance system performance and efficiency, both internally and externally.
- Improve SDLC ways of working (e.g., branching strategy, testing expectations, release notes, deployment checklists).
- Support pre-sales scoping and solution design where needed.
- Proven experience leading technical delivery on complex NetSuite projects.
- Hands-on experience customising and configuring NetSuite (workflows, saved searches, custom forms, and record types).
- Experience using SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, SuiteBundler, SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF), Suitelets (front end and back end), and other SuiteCloud elements to enhance NetSuite capabilities.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical analysis and then designing, building, testing, and implementing customisations.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, with experience working with APIs.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable owning decisions and explaining trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Experience defining standards, mentoring others, and raising team capability.
- Comfortable analysing complex problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to make a good positive impact; development work has a big impact amongst customers; you’d be helping unblock and delight users.
