Noble Recruiting have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for a dynamic and fast-paced working environment in Southend-On-Sea area of Essex working in both the Warehousing Sheds and Yard areas. This is a Permanent position from the start! Please note: Candidates MUST have own transport if you wish to apply for this position.

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum. Free parking on site. Hours: Monday to Friday 6.00am to 3.00pm plus overtime in peak periods as required for business needs. Flexibility is required for this position of authority.

This permanent position would suit an experienced Supervisor who is looking to take the lead and look after not only goods in & out within the Warehouse, but look after the Yard area, drivers, customers, confident to liaise with drivers, actively pick & load goods both via hand and Forklift driving, and be heavily involved in for-planning workloads on a daily basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee the yard/warehouse staff, ensuring they work as an effective team in their duties of serving customers, storing materials, keeping the yard and warehouse clean and tidy.
  • Perform day to day people management tasks and perform appraisals for staff as per the company’s review process. Evaluate individual and team output and recommend changes and training as required.
  • Unloading, unpacking, checking and storing goods received, either manually or using the forklift truck (when fully trained and certified).
  • Greet customers & drivers, establish the customers' purchase needs, provide advice on alternative and/or more suitable products.
  • If a customer has pre-loaded goods check the vehicle to ensure the goods loaded reflect the information provided.
  • Assist with the Company’s stock taking spot checks to ensure accuracy of information at all times.
  • Oversee pre-forklift checks and racking inspections/General compliance paperwork that is distribution related.
  • General warehouse and yard duties as required.
  • Report any incidents or accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting system.
Person Specification
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Enjoys being hands-on and fit & able to complete manual handling duties. Heavy lifting involved as part of the job and duties expected with this position.
  • A minimum of two years' supervisory experience essential in a distribution setting.
  • Awareness of and commitment to working to high levels of health and safety regulations.
  • Counterbalance or Combi Fork Lift Truck Certification - valid/in date certification.
  • Physically able to cope with manual handling/heavy lifting timber or cement bag goods, working in all kinds of weather & being on feet / walking for the majority of the day.
  • Reliable and able to work within a team environment as well as under own initiative.
  • Adaptable and able to cope with fluent, changing work requirements.
  • Driver & own transport - essential.
